Mission: Partnership scholars program provides six years of educational and cultural experiences for academically motivated but economically disadvantaged students , starting in the 7th grade , to promote college access and a lifetime of success.
Results: Over the last five years, 100% of PSP graduates immediately enrolled in college. Notably, 90% of them directly enrolled in a four-year college or university for the semester following their graduation. In comparison, only 42% of students nationally achieve this . Last year, 98% of PSP students graduated college-ready, completing the A-G curriculum required for admission into UC and CSU institutions. Ninety-five percent of our graduates last year were accepted into at least one four-year university and 90% of those students matriculated at one of those institutions. The remaining students enrolled in community college. Last year the average financial aid award was $28,000 for the first year of college. Furthermore, our graduates have enrolled in more than 50 public and private universities around the country and eight of our alumni have won prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarships.
Programs: Partnership scholar program improves college-access for economically disadvantaged students. Students participate in educational and cultural activities with mentors who take them on field trips to college campuses, museums, exhibits, restaurants, concerts, sporting events and includes travel to other states and abroad. We also provide educational supplies, including technology materials , tutoring and test preparation classes.
