Mission: Promote and encourage public awareness of the unique recreational resources, programs and facilities available to the community through the monterey county parks system. It does so in a manner that enhances the department's ability to provide varied recreational programs and park facilities through interpretation, acquisition, development, maintenance and operational assistance.
Programs: The parks foundation is involved in several areas that support the parks department of monterey county. The foundation supports the many exhibits at san lorenzo park for school children. The foundation has help support the community garden project started at san lorenzo to teach the local grammar school children the life cycle of farm to table farming.
