We are so fortunate to be in a community that cherishes education. The Pacifica Education Foundation has done a great job bringing in funding and volunteers from all over the community. It has been such a grassroots effort with strong leadership and commitment from many individuals. We look forward to continued success of the Pacifica Education Foundation as it continues to grow and flourish.
My wife and I were so impressed with how well the Pacifica Education Foundation communicated its mission and organized its base funding that we joined the foundation even though we don't have kids in the school district. Now that I've been with the foundation for over a year, I see first-hand how all the volunteers are making the mission a success. The 21st Century Learning Initiative is well on its way to full implementation.
In 2008, I joined a group of dedicated parents and community to found PEF and by 2009, we'd grown into a strong group of very talented and committed volunteers. Between December of 2008 and May of 2010, we rallied our local community to meet our first fund-raising goal and have made enormous progress since then. This is a group of professionally accomplished, community-oriented people that I am very proud to work with to make a difference in our schools. It's incredibly rewarding to see what a community can do when it cares about its kids!
I enjoy working with the wonderful and hugely dedicated people behind PEF. Their sacrifices, both monetarily and time-wise, are extraordinary. They are the nicest bunch of bulldogs who are making a positive impact in our schools at a time when we need it most. I am proud to be a part of this team.
This newly formed all volunteer community group who is raising funds for our K- schools. I find the Board members to be bright,energetic and engaged. We are 60% along in reaching our Founding Patron goal and 30% along for our membership goal. When we reach our goal December 2009 we will be ready to implement our first program, a terrific 21st Century Learning Skills program,with the district.
