Mission: Ozanam hall of queens nursing home, inc mission is to provide wholistic care to the aged and infirm in an atmosphere of christian understanding and faith. We hold in reverential esteem the sanctity of life, believing that god has touched humankind in a personal and lasting manner by the gift of life. Sanctity of life does not depend upon the quality of life. Although mental and/or physical limitations may exist, the life of every human being is considred sacred. Each one has, therefore, a moral responsibility to respect and protect that basic right to life.
Programs: Ozanam hall is a 432 bed skilled nursing facility that provided 148,958 nursing days to various residents as follows: medicare:15,285; medicaid: 110,932; private: 18,011; others: 4,731 nursing days. The rehab center rehabilitiated and returned 236 residents back to the community. We initiated a program called "love made visible" which impacted 215 alzheimer's residents. The program is extended to weekends. Our annual "memory screening" alzheimer memorial candle lighting ceremony" and "blood drive" continues. The dementia training program for the public continues. Ozanam hall also participates in the american cancer society's making strides against breast cancer fundraiser.
