I have volunteered, with Outreach for Animals for 3 years. Tim Harrison, the founder, is the most ethical, humble, effective, knowledgeable person that I have ever met in the animal world. I have been involved with animal advocacy since the 1980's.
If you want to donate to an organization that goes out in the field to work with the humans and rescue "their" animals, Outreach For Animals is the one. The team makes 0% profit. The money goes towards animal rescues. This includes, travel, materials when enclosures are needed to be built, all the logistics that goes into rescuing exotic animals.
Unlike some other organizations that use the donated money to buy a designer handbag or car.

I have been a volunteer for over a year with OFA. I can not say enough about how much care, concern and ethics goes into this organization! This type of service is needed throughout the USA! The Team handles situations in a fair and legit way! Many dangerous animals AND the humans involved have been rehabed, relocated and rescued! Please support OFA in any way that you can! They have so much passion and concern for the humans and animals in each and every situation! And I have been involved with many non profits since the 1980's
Hi, my name is Anette Acosta, I am a veterinary technician student at Miami Dade College. This semester I'm taking Exotic animal medicine and my professor Dr. M sent an assignment based in the documentary film Elephants in the living room. First, I rented the film but finally I ended buying it. This is an excellent documentary such as magistral class about a variety of topics around the american society and its taste for having wildlife animals as pet in despite of how dangerous this hobby can be for humans and how harmful can be for this animals. Wildlife animals only need respect for their life and their rights to live in peace in their original environment.

I am often times put off by animal rights and welfare groups labeled as charities, BUT Outreach For Animals is so much more. Not only do they reach out and help owners put animals into better situations, Tim gives his time to teach the next generation about animals, nature, respect, responsibility, and dedication. Tim and those involved with Outreach show a level of compassion for all life and they are to be commended for their efforts. I'm glad to have them here in Ohio with us.
We have collaborated on a number of occasions with OFA and cannot say enough about their compassion, courtesy, and professionalism. This organization comes "from the heart" and exists solely to help animals in need and teach responsibility around all wildlife. They are a 'fledgling' organization and need your support to do the work that needs done for captive exotic "pets". They are the "real deal"!

Tim Harrison's unparalleled emergency management and responder skills, combined with his leadership and compassion for animals and people, make Outreach for Animals an outstanding and unique organization! Unlike so many animal advocacy organizations, OFA is a hands-on group that helps displaced and often dangerous exotic animals a new lease on life. They intervene when no one else will! Don't support the HSUS with your $$, support OFA, the REAL heroes who are in the field routinely ensuring the safety of the the public and the health and well-being of animals. I highly recommend support of OFA.
Outreach for Animals is a great organization, any donation given towards them will be certainly used to help exotic animals and owners and to protect the public. The documentary "The Elephant in The Living Room" opened my eyes to the problem of dangerous exotic ownership in this country. We should unite efforts in passing regulations in other states like it just happened in Ohio, and help those who already have animals in providing decent living conditions to lions and bears, while also protecting the community.
Out Reach For Animals is a great Organization! Tim Harrison and his colleages have done a fine job helping and educating people on Exotic Animals and their care, and especially helping those people in need of assistance with Vet Care, Dental Care, Rescue Assistance & Placement at various Sanctuaries through out the United States, with very liitle funding! This organization deserves much recognition for their achievements, is well deserving of donations to continue their mission!
Outreach for Animals is an amazing organization that rolls up their sleeves and gets down to the real work at hand. When we moved two tigers from Ohio to our facility in Oregon, Tim Harrison and his team were there with us the entire way. And not just the day of the move, but for weeks earlier, helping with vet care for the two tigers, providing support to the previous owners and doing everything they could to make the transport go as smoothly as possible. I consider Tim Harrison a dear friend but also a true hero in animal rescue. I can't say enough good things about the work that they do and all on a budget that would make you cry. They deserve all of our support, so when you think about worthy non-profits to support, I recommend Outreach for Animals as a number one choice!
