Mission: The purpose of the oregon state council (osc) is to promote the educational and professional development of our members and to promote other non-profit purposes of the society of human resource management (shrm). We do this by providing a structure for shrm members in the state of oregon to consult together concerning the affairs, activities, needs, and problems faced by the human resource management practitioners in the state. The council serves as the communication link between shrm and the chapters.
Programs: Shrm increased awareness of local chapters in the state and benefits of shrm membership. Increased the membership numbers for chapters by 3%. The osc sent out an e-blast to at-large shrm members and at the annual legislative/employment law conference, we asked attendees at registration if they were an shrm member. If no, they were presented with information. Thirty people requested information about their local chapter.
