My Day Counts has really impressed me with how they were able to change their service delivery model during the 2020 pandemic so that participants were able to access important programs and services remotely. My friend's son would have really been lost had he not been able to see his My Day Counts friends during the last year. One thing that really has impressed me is the number of participants taking college courses and/or getting their high school diplomas. I know many of these individuals were told that college would never be an option for them - yet here they are working hard and taking college courses. Lastly, the independent living skills classes are of particular importance to me. I know that many families keep their participants at home for decades. I was happy to see that My Day Counts is willing to teach participants (even if it takes years) independent living skills. The more we support and empower these individuals to overcome barriers to the community and living independently, the more they can enjoy life. All in all, I think My Day Counts is doing great work! Keep it up!!

This organization recently renamed My Day Counts is suffering as they shift from their original core service for adults with developmental disabilities to being an employment training center for autistic adults making coffee k-cups under the new name My Cup Counts. Good employees are leaving and the management is putting effort to get rich people to donate instead of basic financial management.
Review from Guidestar
I was a volunteer board member of OCAAC for about fifteen years, and served on both Finance and Major Gifts Committees for over ten years until 2013. This organization consistently impressed me with its a) commitment to their mission above all, and b) financial integrity and commitment to spend donor dollars wisely for the best outcomes for their clients. When I first joined the board, this agency provided jobs in a sheltered workshop and job coaching for developmentally disabled to work out in the community. Over the years. it has expanded to housing placements, independent living skills, and day programs for the most critically disabled as well as classes, parental training, etc. Anyone is invited to visit the facility and the smiles of the faces of their clients will tell you the story.....
