Mission: Organized for accepting and administering charitable donations to improve the visual health and welfare of north dakota's citizen, inlcuding funding grants, programs to improve access to eye care, scholarships and programs to pormote public awareness on the importance of a lifetime of comprehensive eye care.
Programs: Participated in "vision usa" whereby basic eye examinations and eyeglasses are provided free of charge to low income working families who do not have vision insurance. Ndoa member optometrists (78 providers) dontate their services to provide comprehensive eye exams to children and adults. For 2017 90 people applied for the program of which 56 were eligible to receive care. Paid for lenses required for eligible patients. Vision usa providers donate up to 8 eye exams per year.

distributed brochures promoting the infantsee program whereby participating optometrists provide a comprehensive infant eye assessment between 6 and 12 months of age as a no-cost public service. Also distributed diabetic eye exam report cards to communicate with primary care physicians.
