oic hospitality, customer service & retail sales training program at arc: contracts with the philadelphia department of human services to operate a vocational training program for parents connected to the dhs achieving reunification center (arc). The goal of arc is to provide those services that will ultimately permit parents to regain their parental rights. One practical goal is to secure a job, thus the financial capacity to provide for their child/children. Oic operates training in the areas of housekeeping/guest services, customer service and culinary arts.
after-school program: oic's out-of-school-time programming emphasizes positive youth development by providing services and opportunities to support all young people in developing a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and empowerment. Poic ensures positive youth development by building confidence through the following initiatives: the arts, music, sports, hobbies, and cultural awareness; poic provides academic supports, and promotes caring relationships between young people and adults through family workshops and community engagement. The program, through philadelphia safe and sound, provides funding for oic to conduct an after-school program for over fifty (75) students at h. A. Brown elementary school. It includes homework assistance, interactive educational games, recreational activities, violence prevention and the school's "100 book challenge".
