Operation Silver Star has been a great resource for our family. My husband served our country and when we had little to nothing, OSS gave us hope. They are a great staff of people who care deeply about all service members and their families.

AMAZING organization! When other wounded Veteran organizations couldn't help and we were down and out, OSS stepped up and helped us. We appreciate this organization so very much, they understand disabilities and never allow is to feel like we are any different than others. Thank You so much!!!!

Not to be confused with the Wounded Warrior Project, this local organization has selflessly provided help to wounded vets in their community. They have worked faithfully and tirelessly for vets who have a real need. OSS has raised funds in many ways and solicit members of their community in their efforts to provide assistance to those without hope. Their enthusiasm and efforts are praiseworthy!!!

Extremely Greatful and Thankful to the organization. Since leaving the military there have been some real hard times where I felt all was gone. Thanks to them, I was able to talk to someone and get somethings off my chest and was able to come to terms and peace with myself. I owe them so much for helping.

Operation Silver Star has been nothing but AMAZING. My husband is a disabled combat veteran (OIF), OSS has helped us when we were about to get our utilities shut off. My husband sleeps with an apnea monitor and is was vital that we kept the utilities on. We explained our situation and they dis what they could which was a complete blessing. Thank you sooo very much OSS!!!!! We are forever grateful!

We have received assistance in the past and I felt so blessed to have come across such an amazing Operation. Usually my husband and I were in the "giving" seat and the tables had turned on us and we had no where who could help us, then we came across this organization and it was a TRUE BLESSING! Thank you Lord for these people!

I am honored to know Richard and Delia, founders of this group. I know many people who run non-profit organizations and Richard and Delia are among the most dedicated to their cause and to helping our wounded warriors. I have donated to this group and will continue to do so. Should my son be injured in war, this would be the first organization I would turn to. Keep up the good work!

went to Operation Silver Star Web site and there were no current updates or upcoming local events. Would really appreciate more promoting of local wounded warriors, and their needs as I am sure there are many. Also after looking at the facebook page, it appears the entire organization is questioning it's existance and asking for prayers in decision making??? I would think, if you want to be on the 2012 Top-Rated Nonprofits list you should be promoting events in your own area and have a large fan base via facebook. I am wondering why you would not be local on such an important day (Veterans Day) but instead are walking in an event hundreds of miles away?

samandeggs.. thank you for your review. I wish I could tell you that our organization is exclusively local however we are national as well. We see the needs for all veterans as ever-growing and just as viable as the local needs however, we are also centering our attention on local needs as well.. We asked for prayers so as to bring attention to our efforts nationally because of the enormity of the task we are facing.. the number of veterans in need require much more that we are able to handle on just the few people we have so we need others with the same heart for veterans to help us get to the level we will need to be to help those in need. We are attending the Walk to Remember in Santa Maria Ca on behalf of a Gold Star Mom for Gold Star mothers and all veterans some of who gave all for our country. I apologize for not updating the website but we are attending the Field of Honor in Murrieta Ca that weekend as well so we are trying to represent all areas as much as we can. I am sorry that you would not feel comfortable donating to an organization like ours but I hope that if you decide to look into what we are and what we would like to accomplish for our veterans you would see us differently. Just talk to us directly and maybe we will be able to show you what you are not seeing just by reading what we have on the web... thank you for time and review.. we will certainly learn from your words..
