Mission: To enhance the general public's awareness of opera in central kentucky and throughout the commonwealth
Programs: Operalex supported many operatic performances, scholarship auditions, and opera promotional events such as luncheons, receptions, cast feeds and opera classes
operalex hosted the metropolitan opera national council kentucky district auditions with over 300 people in the audience, a dinner and a reception for the judges, contestants and sponsors, and a master class the following day
the outreach program included 3 web sites, 3 issues of the newsletter mailed to over 1,300 recipients, maintaining a database, hosting special events, providing comp tickets to potential supporters, maintaining a costume company that rents costumes at affordable prices to other not-for-profit performing arts organizations and staffing a merchandise sales table at opera performances.
