Programs: Requiem 4 reconciliation (r4r)in the fall of 2016, after a summer of sweltering discontent, and far too many lives lost, opera noirs artistic director, roz clark, created requiem 4 reconciliation ~ a concert for hope and healing. The concert was a multi-cultural celebration of life, and the audience was a melting pot of humanity who came together to both mourn the tragic loss of life, and embrace one another as we found comfort in the music, and our shared commitment to community. The audience included uniformed police officers, clergy, and community members from all walks of life who reaffirmed their dedication to making the world a better place one interaction at a time. Requiem 4 reconciliation has transcended simply being a concert performance, and is becoming a movement that utilizes music to explore and understand social justice. Please support opera noir as i, and my esteemed artistic colleagues, lift our voices for all those whose lives have ended violently, and far too soon, and encourage those of us who are left behind to find common ground to begin the process of healing and restoration.

praise revelationpraise revelation, conceived and written by, roz clark, artistic director of opera noir, is a cutting-edge contemporary stage production that pays homage to great works such as alvin aileys masterpiece, revelations, and vinnette carrolls your arms too short to box with god. Ms. Smith-clark created this work to highlight and celebrate the impact and influence that the praise & worship experience of the african american church has had on the rich cultural legacy of music and dance in america, and around the world. Currently in the workshop/development phase, three pieces from the show have been presented in open rehearsals, and backer auditions. Our goal is to fully fund phase i, which will allow the company to produce a live video recording to create a sizzle reel for marketing & fund raising.
