This organization is an absolute joke. Have you read their cover what they have online about them exactly what is it they do. So I asked. Being homeless now at age 63 due to disability. I worked all my life as a legal assistant and evidently I paid in too much in taxes that my disability check is too much for them to desire to help me at all. However it's not enough to cover a month's rent even at the lowest wrong of properties on the Mississippi coast.
When I pinned them down exactly what do you do... I was told that they are the go-between between the disabled homeless person and the housing authority like I fill out the paperwork and they go deliver it to the housing authority.. oh I see because g I can come to you to get the paperwork filled out but I can't go take it to the housing authority myself.
When I finally did find a place I could afford, it was that I could afford the rent but not the deposit which was pretty low actually and they squirmed around and only provided $150 towards the deposit to get a 63-year-old person who worked all her life paying taxes a place to live. Would not come off of the $300 deposit.

The place ended up being shut down by code enforcement, and I'm homeless again.
There's no help from them
they let me go two years without even communicating with me.
It is a crying shame that the people who work all their lives get no assistance when they become disabled. All of the help goes to the people who never worked and collecting )lSSI or have a drug addiction or have a bunch of kids.

Programs: Open doors homeless coalition manages the homeless management information system for the six lower coastal counties that make up the continuum of care area. Odhc works with its member agencies to build solution to prevent and end homelessness . Odhc serves as the collaborative applicate for the hud continuum of care, the community application for funds to address homelessness.
