We at One Ministry ORG continue to push forward to serve a community that doesn't have the ability to help themselves. I beg every corporate and independent donor to support programs like this. I post such a request because often people support other countries as we should. However, we need to put America First. Before we send Aid out of our country consider these facts.
The top 10 cities for childhood poverty:
Flint, Mich., 57.7%;
Gary, Ind., 53.6%;
Youngstown, Ohio, 53.5%;
Cleveland, Ohio, 51.4%;
Detroit, Mich., 50.8%;
Reading, Pa., 48.9%;
Canton, Ohio, 48.9%;
Rochester, N.Y., 48.6%;
Syracuse, N.Y., 47.4%;
Dayton, Ohio, 47.3%;
Shreveport, Las, 45.9%;
Passaic, N.J., 45.6%;
Albany, Ga., 45.5%;
Kissimmee, Fla., 44.8%;
Memphis, Tenn., 44.7%;
Laredo, Texas, 44.4%;
Wilmington, Del., 44.3%;
San Bernadino, Calif., 44%;
Buffalo, N.Y., 43.9%;
North Little Rock, Ark., 42.8%.
It is shocking that there are five cities that have more than 50% of children in poverty. We serve the #2 city in America. If we are going to make America Great Again, let's start helping these children in those cities.
I thank you in advance for your support of One Ministry and programs like it in one of the top five cities.
This is a great nonprofit organization. They have really healthy options and surprisingly it's really good food. They are now giving thing for my home.
They are very welcoming and giving of time, talent and treasures. I donate to them because you can see where the money goes. Not to payroll and big titles but to make a big impact on Northern, Indiana
This place is going through a change and refocusing it's efforts to make the most impact. Keep up the good work
Such a blessing had lunch and believe it or not played “Uno”. I had not played in years. Good food and fun.
To good to be true!!! I heard about the fairly new cafe in Gary and I had to stop by. I brought my niece we ate well and were able to grab items from the market and pastries. What an awesome place. Thanks!!! I will definitely spread the word!
Hello, I am a person who has been served from one ministry. I am a young woman who has been in and out of jobs latley and haven't had as much financial to help with eating hot meals every day . I have seen this ministry on line for a while but never cross my mind to get up and go anywhere because I am a person who do not like asking for help when I'm going through difficult times.
As I walked into one ministry one day each and everyone had a smile on there face and welcome me with loving arms. I set down and received a fresh hot cook meals. It was amazing.
As I continue to come there , I felt I was part of there ministry Because everyone always seems to be a cheerful giver an loving. I couldn't believe that there meals was free, I realized that they give there time and energy to serve people who are going through any hard situation in there life's and are a true blessing to be around. They even have great conversation with you .
One ministry has not been a place I come to just eat but a place that makes me feel better and welcoming. They had been a big help in my life. Everytime I walk in and out I received encouraging words and also prayer as well because I Know I need it through this time .
So I am glad that I have came and will continue to come there because they have been a blessing in my life. I appreciate everything .
Thank you ♥️
Blessed to have 1Ministry PIF Cafe and the Pay It Forward Market in this area. Being able to receive groceries, household items and a hot meal while your funds are low is great and when you are able to get the enjoyment of donating what I can to assist another with their meal is a blessing!!! When you're thinking how can I bless someone well you can stop by the PIF Market and the PIF Cafe and Pay It Forward!!!
Walking by, I could smell the food cooking. I went in the cafe inquiring. Found out about the pay it forward concept. I donated what I could. I ate good and it was cool.
I was conducting business at another nearby business. So, I stopped by and to my surprise. After having conversation about my needs and goals with a volunteer, over a meal. I got contacts with an agency to help me better take care of my grandfather, Area Agency on Aging at Northwest Indiana Community Action, Now, he is on Medicaid and have home health services.
My neighbor told me about this place, it was Tuesday before payday and I had nothing for dinner/no money. I had a nice dinner. It tasted good too.
I went to the Pay It Forward Cafe in the One Ministry Outreach Building. Have a fun time. Service and the food was good too. The meal was free they asked for a donation to pay for someone else's meal. How about that!
Jerk Chops was mmmmmgood!
I was told about the Nonprofit today from a friend. I was very surprise and overwhelm of the generosity of this organization the food was plentiful and fresh was very surprised when the pastor prayed for ME I will visit again thanks for a job well done
I'm a single mom of 3 kids. I went to the food pantry and it helped me out a lot. The people that helped me out are very nice. I will go back again.
We visited PIFCafe on Thursday Sept 28..we were greeted by a young lady who made us very welcome, we exchanged names and we met several others who were there in the area of where service was held, started asking questions about the ministry and the services held, and we signed a sheet with a staff member who had the biggest smile on her face,as a matter of fact we were warmly greeted by all of them we were we escorted to the area of which food was distributed and it was a very nice selection of produce dry staples and even meat,the young lady was so kind and patient, they were generous selections and before we left with our bags, we were asked if there was anything they could pray with us about, and I received prayer and we met Pastor Smith...it was just such a blessing...
One Ministry outreach center is an amazing place to be.. I'm glad I joined the church and able to serve the Lord.. I enjoy helping in the kitchen it feels good to help others in need... Such great food and members of the church... I really feel loved and appreciated..
The One Ministry outreach has been a blessing from God. I am waiting for my job short term disability allowance. With God supplying and this ministry helping, we have not gone without this three months.
I am a volunteer at the One Ministry Outreach Center located in the southern part of Gary,Indiana. This area offers very little free and accessible services to the community. We have provided hot meals-in a restaurant-type atmosphere-served with dignity. We also have free food give-a -ways..people who were shy to come in because they thought they needed Ids and permanent addresses were reassured by welcoming smiles and hugs. They were surprised that they got to select what they needed. Their gratefulness touched the hearts of all the volunteers.
We are a growing ministry -we need funding to meet the growing needs of families who have sudden changes in circumstances -injury, sickness, death, loss of jobs,housing and transportation. Their needs are immediate - food is the most urgent need.
The most important thing about this ministry is that we are a Ministry of ONE -one heart, one passion and one commitment to provide help to all in need, be it children, youth, adults and seniors. Freely and gratefully we receive-and freely we give to all..
Unfortunately my family and I are experiencing hardship currently. Thanks to One Ministry Outreach Center my family and I were able to eat a delicious meal and take food home for several meals at no charge. Thank God for One Ministry Outreach and when were able, I would love to pay it forward either volunteering and/or donating.
The ministry taught me how to serve others with joy. not only serve but give love the JESUS will have us to do. It is heart warming to be able to give some of the things back that was giving to you. Seeing people leaving with food aND smiles on their face
I was blown away by the caring and sincere warmth I received. I was expecting them to ask for ID and limit what things I could take. The blessings I received from the outreach center was amazing, I was treated with respect and non- judgmental environment. I am a working individual who was struggling to make it to my next payday and was in need of food. I didn't think I would qualify but the only thing they asked for was that I come back and let others know they were there to serve the community at large.
The ministry out reach center is a blessing to the community and the volunteers. I and the other volunteers feel happiness when the families come and leave with their needs met. Our cry goes out to everyone that is going thru issues to come
One Ministry Outreach has been a blessing to me because they taught me JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesus, Others and you(myself). I'm working on applying JOY everyday and so far, Thank God I am becoming a better servant. Volunteering has taught me assisting/blessing others before myself is more rewarding because it's not about me!!! Thank You Lord and One Ministry for allowing me to volunteer assisting others.
I am a volunteer and supporter. It is a blessing to be involved with an organization in South Gary that is focused on helping people. God says freely receive...freely give. I have seen members of the community come and not have their personal lives probed, nor identification or proof of income requested nor money demanded. Some even needed assist to carry their groceries to their vehicles. During life, from time to time we all may experience some hardship it is good to have a place to turn where loving participants won't cast judgment.
I was told by a friend about the Feed Thy Neighbor Program. The people was friendly, food was in abundance and good quality.

Continue to pray for us. Strack and Van Til on Taft in Merrillville are closing and we are seeking a new food source. Hopefully, Food Bank of NWI will partner with us soon and/or we get more financial support so we can just buy the food. Nevertheless, thank you for allowing us to serve you.
I went here twice and I loved it. Very nice & clean, everyone nice and friendly. The food was good and fresh as well. Any fruit or veggie you can name, they had it. The bakery goods were wonderful as well. No questions asked when you walk in. You just bring your own bags and load up. What a blessing this has been for my son and I. Keep up the good work and May God Bless You All.

All of our volunteers have a passion for the serving those in need. The simple reason why is that some of them are former clients. They completed our break the chains of addiction and changed their lives. If you know one or are one ask us for more details. Rage-aholics, shopaholics, praise-aholics and other areas in life that we find ourself doing for very little enjoyment in exchange for lots of regrets. There is a free resource to help find hope.
