Mission: The mission of olneyville housing corporation, d/b/a one neighborhood builders is to promote equity, public health and community safety in providence's neighborhoods. We accomplish our mission through: strategic real estate development to increase the availability of affordable homes, spur economic development, and protect our natural resources; engagement of residents and community-based organizations to build trust and collective problem-solving; development of individuals' financial capabilities so that they may realize their personal asset building goals.
Programs: We accomplish our mission through: strategic real estate development to increase the availability of affordable homes, spur economic development, and protect our natural resources; engagement of residents and community-based organizations to build trust and collective problem-solving; development of individuals' financial capabilities so that they may realize their personal asset building goals. Through the years, olneyville housing corporation, d/b/a one neighborhood builders (one/nb) has developed 375 affordable apartments and over 115 single family homes in providence, as well as more than 50,000 square feet of commercial and community space that provide amenities and job opportunities. These spaces include preservation of historic buildings - returning residents and commerce to these important landmarks. Our homeownership promotion department works with over 400 families per year providing free tax preparation services, budgeting assistance, credit counseling, financial capability coaching, homeownership education, and foreclosure prevention -- ensuring one/nb renters and home-buyers are financially secure and have the foundation to achieve their personal goals.
