Nonprofit Overview
Mission: To provide at-risk, low income youths with a fun, safe and educational outdoor experience. Utilizing the natural beauty of our location at the foot of the blue mountain, we will strive to offer the best camping facilities, programs and opportunities to berks county children, youth and families.
Programs: Olivet blue mt. Camp offered day camp experiences to nearly 700 individual campers throughout the 8 week summer camp. These campers are primarily low income children between the ages of 6 and 14, most of which are year-round members of olivet boys and girls club. These children, many of whom had never experienced this type of setting, were able to expand their horizons with fishing, hiking, swimming and other outdoor activities. The blue mountain camp provides a weekly retreat from the tensions and challenges of living in one of the poorest cities in america. In 2017, olivet was able to provide transportation from its ricketts center club in pottstown to hamburg to partcipate in the camp programming. Participants from the 21st century program also enjoyed the blue mountain camp during the summer.
