Mission: The ohio state bar foundation is a nonprofit corporation under ohio law, organized for educational, literary, scientific and charitable purposes. It is a membership organization of attorneys and judges, and is considered "the professional honorary of ohio lawyers. " the mission is to promote the pursuit of justice and public understanding of the rule of law as the philanthropic arm of the ohio state bar association.
Programs: The ohio state bar foundation fulfills its mission of promoting public understanding of the rule of law and improvements in the justice system throughout ohio through grants to organizations that advance that mission; through programs developed by its volunteers including a book for elementary students teaching the basics of the legal system; a public service campaign designed to increase awareness and utilization of advance directives; publications to aid understanding of aspects of the law and the legal system; and recognition of individuals and programs or organizations whose work promotes public understanding of the law or improvements in the justice system. The foundation provides grants from its general grant fund to organizations and programs that further the mission.
the foundation develops and presents programs designed to promote public understanding of the law and improve the justice system throughout ohio. Foundation volunteers provide a significant portion of the human resources. The foundation also created several service opportunities with our volunteers connecting them to our grantees and the general public.
