Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: "Our mission at Odessa Hope and Opportunity Center is to empower and uplift students who have faced challenges in their educational journey. We strive to create a nurturing environment where every individual can find hope, support, and the tools they need to transform their lives. Through our comprehensive programs and classes, we aim to equip students with the skills of conflict resolution, peer mediation, decision making, and anger management, enabling them to foster positive relationships and make informed choices. Together, we believe in unlocking the potential within each student, fostering a brighter future filled with endless opportunities. At O.H.O.C., we are unyielding in our dedication to helping students embrace their true potential and shaping them into confident, resilient, and compassionate individuals who can thrive both academically and personally."
Results: There are currently no results because O.H.O.C. was just formed in January of this year.
Target demographics: youth who have been displaced from their home campuses due to off-campus suspension or expulsion.
Geographic areas served: Odessa, Texas and surrounding communities
Programs: conflict resolution, peer mediation, decision making, anger management as well as tutoring services. They will be taught interview skills, resume writing, money and time management skills.
