Causes: Economic Development, Urban & Community Economic Development
Mission: Oak harbor main street association utilizes a unique four point approach to preservaton based economic development tools that enable communities to revitalize downtown and neighborhood districts by leveraging local assets from historical, cultural and architectural resources to local enterprises and community pride.
Programs: In design plans were made for increased signagepromotions held many events to encourage econcimic developemnt which inlcuded: * safe treats, closing downtown to vehicular traffic, creating a pedestrian mall safe for children and their famiilles to trick or trat at downtown businesses. This attracted hundreds of people to the downtown. * holdiay markets and sunday markets allowed vendors to sell products and attracted people to come downtown. * city treelighting event held in the district brought many people downtown to celbrate the holidays and promote holiday shopping in the downtown businesses.
