Programs: Despite the steady staff vacancy factor in the residential program, 2017 saw a significant increase in vacations and getaways for the people supported. With the efforts of our management team and selfless offers of time on the part of our staff, nearly every home participated in a trip. From hershey park, virginia beach, atlantic city and disney to the more local camping trips and water and theme parks. Access to the community on a higher level was another great theme in 2017. People enjoyed several sporting events, such as hockey and baseball games, concerts at bethel woods, broadway shows in manhattan and a hudson river cruise to name a few. It was a busy year full of new experiences.

day habilitation changed/added positions to better manage the support needed by those attending program. A second program care manager was added to the fallsburg site. The position was needed due to the fragility of the people served at the site and the ever changing safeguards required for the individual plan of protections. A second program manager was added to the monticello day hab site to assist with oversight of staff and to strengthen supports to people attending that site. This site has a number of people who present behavioral challenges.

in vocational services, the supportive work group placement contracts exceeded the budgeted goal. This was due to stabilization of a customer base allowing for increased days on their worksite. Pathways to employment continued to receive a number of referrals which generated a waiting list. As the program re-organizes, the hope is to no longer have a waiting list and people will be served as their intake packet is received and processed.
