Mission: The northwest ohio flood mitigation partnership, inc. Was established to expedite the design and development of a long-range flood mitigation plan to help alleviate flooding throughout the blanchard river watershed.
Programs: The partnership worked in prior years to secure a 3 million grant from the state of ohio in the 2008-2010 budget. The partnership purchased 27 findlay, ohio properties located in the flood area. These properties have been transferred to the hancock county commissioners to be turned into green space and/or used to build flood control structures. The partnership has partnered with the us army corps of engineers as well as urban design team to expedite the timeline of the feasibility study and to develop potential design plans for ottawa and findlay, ohio. In 2014, the partnership continued its efforts with the us army corps of engineers to advance deadlines and met with elected officials to ensure continued support of the project.
