Mission: The Northern California Solar Energy Association (NorCal Solar) is a chapter of the American Solar Energy Association (ASES). NorCal Solar is a non-profit educational organization with the mission to accelerate the use of solar energy technology through the education and exchange of information. Since 1975 this membership based group has educated and inspired tens of thousands of Californian''s about solar energy through our events, publications, website, and advocacy programs.
Programs: NorCal Solar programs include organizing Solar Home Tours in conjunction with ASES's National Solar Tour day. We provide the latest california solar news, technologies, and policy initiatives through an electronic newsletter. We maintain a resource-filled website which lists events, solar news, extensive educational resources, and a classified list of our Business members. We publish the Solar Energy Resource Guide which covers solar electric and thermal, solar access laws, lighting, passive design, financial analysis, and contacts for many of the local businesses and non-profit groups involved in solar, sustainability, energy efficiency, and other renewable energy issues. NorCal Solar engages and informs the public through our booth display to community events, energy fairs, Earth Day, and other festivals throughout the year. We create networking opportunities by organizing social events and workshops.
