Nonprofit Overview
Mission: The overall mission of the north dakota ballet company is to offer professional dance training, performance opportunities and to advocate dance within the community at large.
Programs: The north dakota ballet company has provided an educational dance institution for over 150 dancers ages 3 to adult. Classes range in the variety of styles of ballet, tap, jazz, modern and hip hop. We offer a unique intensive ballet training program, a competitive dance program, a recreational division, and a pre-professional division of adult performers. We are the only program in the state to offer a pre-professional division and provide this unique opportunity for dancers and our community.
the 2016/17 season marked the 55th anniversary season of the nd balletcompany & academy. Our academy and company performed an originaladaptation of the skaters ballet created by former professional balletdancer emily grizzell. The production was held over the holiday seasonand achieved high audience engagement. Our spring season involved acollaborative mixed repretoire concert that showcased dance through theeras incorportating live dancing and video production from the 1400'still today. Our academy dancer also performed a sold out show ofcinderella. This was an excellent opportunity for young performers totake the stage and embrace classical ballet. Overall our audience engagement grew, as well as our academy classesincreasing the amount of dance education and outreach to the regionalarea.
