Causes: Education, Scholarships, Scholarships & Student Financial Aid
Mission: To expand and enhance the lives of underserved children in west orange and neighbouring communities with lessons in music, scholarships for academically achieving students and traffic safety awareness for all.
Programs: 5k run and walk - this event is held to raise traffic safety awareness and funds raised from this event are put towards the programs. Over 800 people attended the event in 2017 and pledged to drive safely.
music for nikhil - this program provides individualized music lessons to the children of west orange middle and high schools. Over 70 children benefited from the program including free lessons to underserved children of west orange. Saxophone group performed at arbor glen senior home in january 2017.
scholarship - awarded academic scholarships to 27 needbased graduating seniors at west orange,orange and columbia high schools who demonstrated strong academic performance and participated in music and drama
brain injury alliance - sponsored the u got brains champion school program contest hosted by the brain injury alliance of new jersey (bianj) to raise traffic safety awarness in teens. In 2017 63 high schools in new jersey were participating in the contest. The winning schools will receive a driving simulator.
created traffic safety artwork with the students at burlington, long branch, irvington, ridge, wayne valley, university high school as well as residents from south orange at the southnext festival. Impacted over 5,700 children. Public service announcements featuring the artwork created by these children will run in the new jersey transit buses, light rails and stations throughout essex and passaic county in may 2018, the global youth traffic safety month.
