Programs: The new york wine and culinary center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with the mission to educate, engage and excite its visitors on new york's dynamic agriculture, win and food and beverage industries. The center's state-of-the-art facility overlooking canandaigua lake features a hands-on kitchen, educational theater, tasting room, culinary boutique, and locally-sourced restaurant, upstairs bistrothe hands-on kitchen is used throughout the year to host a variety of events from public classes to culinary camps for underpriviledged kids. These classes promote new york state agricultural products and educated guests on cooking techniques as well as new york state history. The classes held in the educational theatre promote wineries, breweries, and distrilleries from across the state as well as new york farms and agricultural products. There are a diverse range of classes held in the theatre, from wine 101 to an intense sommelier boot camp; there are classes for every level, and typically host over 2,000 participants every year. The tasting room provides wines, beers and spirits from across new york state. The selection is rotated frequently throughout the year to promote a diverse selection of products. Tastings are available by the flight or by the glass, and bottles are also available for purchase. The culinary boutique features nys products such as meats, cheese, jams and jellies, as well as culinary tools that are used in the hands-on cooking classes and glassware used in the educational theatre programming. Upstairs bistro's menu showcases new york state food items, wines, beers, and cocktails. The culinary team creates seasonal menus using the freshest new york state products from local farms. Through their detailed menu and a frequently updated farm-listing board, the bistro educates diners on the bounty of new york state.
