Mission: NJGSR was founded in 1999 to provide assistance in finding adoptive homes for unwanted, abandoned or improperly placed German Shepherds and is comprised entirely of volunteers who dedicate their time, talents and resources to accomplish this task. Additionally, we place dogs with law enforcement agencies, educate the public in general about the breed and bite prevention and promote responsible pet ownership. NJGSR's goal is to reduce the number of dogs ending in rescue by educating interested parties before the acquire a dog of this breed, and by promoting responsible ownership, and spaying and neutering to prevent unwanted litters and overpopulation.
