Mission: New immigrant community empowerment (nice) is a community-based, non-profit organization that works to ensure that new immigrants can build social, political and economic power in their communities and beyond.
Programs: Nice's education and workforce development programs seek to give immigrant adults the skills and tools that will allow them to be active members of their communities and to be able to exercise their rights as workers, immigrants and consumers. These programs include: esol classes, financial education classes, occupational health and safety trainings, skills development, know-your-rights workers, and job placement. Programs also include legal clinics for consumer issues and for workplace problems.
nice's community organizing and advocacy programs empower traditionally marginalized immigrant communities to come together with allies to advance the rights of immigrant workers and communities. Current organizing and advocacy efforts focus on: worker's rights, consumer rights and civic engagement, with active campaigns at the community, city and state levels. Nice's organizing and advocacy work also focuses on leadership development to create community leaders.
