Mission: Public education and organizing to abolish the death penalty.
Programs: The nh coalition to abolish the death penalty's primary focus was on public education, growing our membership, and engaging in grassroots lobbying. We held over 30 public events, comprised of film showings, discussion groups, and meetings with leaders in the field, with attendance ranging from 9 to 135 persons per event. Eighteen media pieces were released to news outlets around the state, and over 100 articles, including letters to the editor, were written. Our facebook page received over 10,000 views, while our website capture over 17,000 page views. We produced 32 videos on various aspects of the death penalty repeal movement in nh. We engaged 130 volunteers with over 200 email messages and grew our membership from approximately 1100 to over 2600. Vigils were held in five communities around the state, and members were encouraged to contact their legislators and engage in days of action at the state house, coinciding with key hearings and votes.
