Mission: Our mission is to end the cycle of violence for low-income families and individuals at risk of homelessness and domestic violence by connecting them to safe, permanent housing and services. To achieve our mission, we build and manage housing with on-site services; offer innovative programs that empower victims of abuse to find and retain affordable housing; and expand access to permanent housing resources for low-income families.
Results: New Destiny is committed to ending domestic violence. We believe that secure housing is the only way to guarantee the long-term safety and stability of families and individuals at risk of homelessness and domestic violence. ACCOMPLISHMENTS 15 residential projects in four boroughs developed with 305 permanent and transitional units. Creating HousingLink, an innovative rapid rehousing program designed to prevent and reduce homelessness among low-income domestic violence survivors by connecting them to apartments in safe, affordable existing housing. Offered at the New York City Family Justice Centers, HousingLink provides information on affordable housing, one-on-one assistance, financial assistance and post-placement support. Developing a service model for supporting low-income and homeless families to foster housing stability. Services are offered are offered on-site at our permanent affordable housing, helping domestic violence survivors and their children to cope with the trauma they have experienced from both domestic violence and homelessness. Services foster housing stability, prevent incidents of violence and support financial independence. Typically 100% of domestic violence survivors remain stable in our housing each year. Providing up-to-date information on New York City's ever changing resources regarding affordable housing through our online Housing Resource Center. Founding co-convener of the Family Homelessness Coalition which seeks to bring attention to the prevalence of family homelessness and advocates for policies and resources that prioritize homeless families with children on the City’s homelessness agenda.

Programs: Creating affordable housing for homeless domestic violence survivors and their children - We have 2 service-enriched affordable rental buildings with 104 units in development with 60 units set aside for previously homeless survivors of domestic violence; and 2 joint ventures that will have 146 units for homeless domestic violence survivors. HousingLink - an innovative rapid rehousing program designed to prevent and reduce homelessness among low-income domestic violence survivors by connecting them to apartments in safe, affordable existing housing.
