Causes: Job Training, Vocational Rehabilitation
Mission: Provide vocational training and employment opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their fullest potential.
Programs: Community alternatives program (cap) innovations waiver: a special medicaid program to serve individuals who otherwise require care in an immediate care facility for people with developmental disabilities. Services include individual and group day supports, supported employment, respite and personal care. Community activity and employment transitions (caet): mecklenburg county funded program introducing developmentally disabled individuals to the community through employment, educational opportunities, volunteering, and/or recreation and leisure activities of their choice.
employment group: a private contract to provide a group of individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to work in an integrated work environment.
abilities and possibilities: private pay, skill based programs designed to give individuals with developmental disabilities and other related impairments opportunities to participate in community and site based activities and provide additional supervision and structured activities during the day.
