Mission: The mission of the neighborhood christian centers,inc. ("ncc or the "center") is to guide those in need toward stability and sustainablility through compassionate, christ centered ministries and empowerment programs. Ncc has created and operates programs that address the needs of those whom they are privileged to serve.
Programs: Compassionate services touching approximately 53,500 individuals) offers a full complement of wrap-around services including emergency food, clothing, appliances and furniture, as well as financial assistance with housing, utilities and funeral expenses. Ncc's christmas food basket program provided 11,000 food boxes and the holiday toy store distributed over 2,000 gifts to children.
youth empowerment to succeed ("yes") (touching approximately 745 individuals) serves underprivileged youth and young adults with a continuum of educational services and opportunities. Provides clients with homework support, tutoring, financial literacy, mentoring, leadership development and a variety of summer experiences. Guides ncc youth to academic achievement from high school into college, and/or provides vocational training to support career choices.
family enrichment programs (touching approximately 4,600 individuals) includes: operation smart child - providing prenatal/postnatal parenting skills for pregnant women and caregivers. Women empowered to succeed - designed to equip low-income women with marketable job and life skills leading to meaningful employment. Legacy men - serving men 18 and older through structured recreational and career readiness programs. Love builders - designed to assist married couples in framing healthy, stable marriages and families.
