Mission: The mission of navajo family health resource network is to provide family planning and comprehensive health services in areas on and adjacent to the navajo nation.
Programs: Navajo family health resource network, inc. (nfhrn)is a private, non-profit organization with a staff of twelve and a board of directors comprised of individuals representing various communities and disciplines. Nfhrn was solely funded by the u. S. Department of health and human services through the office of population affairs. Nfhrn has been in operation on the navajo nation for over 42 years. The vision of nfhrn is to assure that every man and woman on and within the vicinity of the navajo nation receive the care and education necessary to be healthy and productive, that every child is born healthy, wanted, and is accepted as an integral and positive aspect of every person's life. A priority of nfhrn is to improve the overall health and well being of women and men by promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging the establishment of a reproductive life plan. Nfhrn seeks the implementation of family planning practices to help prevent accidental pregnancies, to screen for diseases and other health conditions, to improve pregnancy outcomes, and to improve the health of mothers and babies. Nfhrn has provided services for over 8,000 men and women in and around the navajo nation. Nfhrn maintains a collaborative agreement with indian health services to provide reproductive health services for citizens of 110 communities.
