Causes: Engineering & Technology, Technology
Mission: Increase participation of minorities in engineering.
Programs: National conference - held annually in the spring to address issues of concern to black engineering students. The focus is on the cultural, technical, academic and professional concerns of the membership.
summer engineering experience for kids-(seek): seek serves, in part, as nsbes solution to increasing the number of underrepresented children pursuing careers in the stem fields. Thus, seek begins exposing these groups to engineering as early as 3rd grade, and continues the stem exposure through the 12th grade. In addition, this exposure will be provided by utilizing nsbe members, who are, collegiate students, majoring in stem fields. From its inception, nsbes seek program quickly established itself as the largest stem program for underrepresented children snd mentors in the nation!
