Causes: Education, Scholarships, Scholarships & Student Financial Aid
Mission: The foundation addresses the dropout crisis and its impact on our nation's youth, economy and national security. Our efforts are directed primarily toward developing, supporting and enhancing the national guard youth challenge program.
Programs: Awareness and advocacy: ngyf executes an ongoing campaign through local and national events, panel briefs and psas, to make the public aware of the dropout problem and the success challenge is experiencing in combating the issue. This also includes providing guidance on social media, engaging local and national media, and making sure lawmakers and decision makers are aware of the benefits of the program. This also includes an annual event in the washington, dc area recognizing and rewarding successes throughout the ngyf programs.
scholarships: according to the mdrc study on challenge, participation in the program increases college attainment by 86%. The competitive scholarships offered by ngyf assist challenge graduates who plan to continue their education in college, vocational school programs or career training. Graduates from the challenge numbered over 9,000 in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
