Mission: Improving the lives of day laborers in the united states. To unify and strengthen day laborer organizations to be more strategic and effective in their efforts to develop leadership, mobilize and organize day laborer in order to protect and promote civil, labor, and human rights.
Programs: Immigrant integration - education and advocacy: ndlon works to ensure that the voice of the day laborer community is heard by promoting and facilitating models for their social and workforce integration. In order to do this effectively, ndlon trains, educates, connects and inspires organizers, day laborers, and community organizations in local, regional, and national advocacy efforts that improve the lives of immigrants and protects their civil rights.
strengthen member organization and worker centers: ndlon connects local worker centers and day laborer organizations so that they can replicate effective strategies, share institutional wisdom, and deepen their role as institutions that build community and economic opportunity. Ndlon accomplished this by coordinating trainings, translocal campaigns, as well as by hosting regional and national gatherings of its member & partner organizations. Ndlon also strengthened local organizations by expanding strategic partnerships with ally organizations that can provide added support to build key capacity and infrastructure.
fiscal sponsorship service: in 2016-2017, ndlon continued to serve as a fiscal sponsor for 4 start up organizations. Fiscally sponsored projects focuses on directly serving the day laborer population, immigrant youth, and/or the broader immigrant community.
