NAVF has significantly impacted my family in a way that will allow us to survive. We are swimming in elderly care costs. There is no way we could have obtained the VA benefits for which my father is eligible as a wartime veteran without NAVF. The fact they walked us through every step of the way to obtain these benefits, free of consulting fees, is unbelievable. We had to start from scratch meaning resurrecting my Dad's DD-214s from the Vietnam era. We got the benefits which makes every month easier. It's sad that obtaining VA funds requires an intermediary but it does. What NAVF does is God's work (and I'm not religious). I am willing to be contacted if you are hesitant to work with them.

Joe Solsona and Tonya working at the former NASV now NAVF saved my mom's life and dignity along with my sanity. My 80 year old mom lost her house in the bubble along with most of her savings and investments. She moved in with me for two years while we sought alternatives. We quickly found that she could not survive on her Social Security and meager pension. After paying a lawyer $600 who did virtually nothing, I came across Joe and his organization, and we started down the long winding path to achieving independence again for my mom. My father had been in the Pacific in WWII, but had died in 1959 when I was very young, and we found that his military records had been burned in the records fire of 1973. My uncle was still alive and provided some leads, and Joe and his group took it from there. It took almost a year to get the first payment, but since Joe had filed all the paperwork immediately, the VA retroed the full amount back to that date. My mom now has her own place, all because of Joe and his team. One thing I learned about our country, the VA is very stingy with its money, while it is easy to get welfare. Joe was able to wade through all the red tape and make it happen for us. He is an angel on earth. I also have to thank Greg Rawson at Congressman Yoho's office for his help along with the Congressman, a very big advocate for veterans. May God bless you all.
Very Respectfully, Commander Patrick K. McCabe Thurman, Son of LCPL James H. McCabe, USA, and Julia S. McCabe Thurman.

Mom and I can't thank you enough for the help and support you gave us through this application process for benefits. By becoming a member of the NAVF I truly believe that helped speed up the process for her to receive benefits since she had to move into an ALF. Tonya Scott and Kitty Williams saw us through every step of the way! Thank you.

Tonya Scott was our claims agent and guided us through the process of obtaining Aid and Assistance benefits for my 98 year-old WW2 veteran father. I honestly don't know what we would have done without Tonya's help. She was a wonderful advocate for us - patient, knowledgeable, and persevering. She genuinely cares about veterans and their families, and getting them the help they need.

To whom it may concern,
I just want to thank Jeff , Ken and the staff in Florida for all their help in providing me with the help I needed for my VA benefits. The process was painless as you could have in these situations. My daughter in-law found Jeff's card at one of the assisted living locations in Charlotte, NC that my family visited and since that day forward I will be forever grateful. After serving this country in the Air Force for 22 years, the extra benefits will help me and my family in many ways. Once again, I really appreciate all of the hard work the Veteran Support Center has given me.
Sincerely,
Dewey R. Lowder

Tonya Scott was extremely helpful and wonderful to work with. She always called me back to answer any questions when I left messages. She was always understanding, and knowledgeable to help me when I had questions that required assistance. Without her help I would not have been able to get this done. She was truly a blessing for us and we will be forever grateful for her help. Thank you Tonya Scott.

We were advised by our attorney that the process for obtaining VA benefits can be difficult, frustrating and will often lead to denial. He recommended contacting the NAVF in Florida. From our first call we were greeted with enthusiasm and caring. I spent 1 full hour taking notes and kept apologizing for taking so much time. I called again weeks later to do it again. Their support was constantly the best and always caring. Unfortunately, the person we started with and left the organization and I was concerned. But once again I was introduced to Tony Scott, who continued the fabulous support, caring and help that we needed to go through a confusing process. Tonya helped us to understand the paperwork, the submission process and the approval process. Whatever we needed, whatever we couldn't understand, Tonya and her staff made it a wonderful process. My father is a veteran and is unable to afford have the care they need. The entire staff told us the process could take 2 to 4 months. They advised throughout the project and proofed the paperwork. and 10 weeks later my father was receiving benefits to help pay for live in care. My Mom and Dad are able to continue to live in their apartment with the assistance of care givers. This could only have happened through the dedicated staff of NAVF and the leadership of Tonya Scott. My Father cried when I told him they could stay in their home with his wife of 63 years. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!! From Buffalo Grove, Illinois.

Tonya Scott went above and beyond to assist with paperwork for Veterans Spouse benefits. My mom is in a full care facility and the funds really help in paying for her charges there. An amazing service provided with tons of phone and email support along the way. Unmatched kindness shown at every turn, very good experience, thank you for this service!

I live in Florida. My mother lives in Oklahoma. Last year it became obvious that my mother could no longer live on her own. She had been diagnosed with dementia, Alzheimers type. I wanted her to come live with me in Florida. She wanted to stay in Oklahoma, near friends and grandchildren. We found a wonderful Assisted Living Facility in Oklahoma, and moved her in in July 2013. Social Security, her only income, did not come close to covering her monthly expenses. I knew that I would soon have to start dipping into my retirement account to keep my mother in a place that she is safe, and that she loves. Through the National Association of Senior Veterans (NASV) I became aware of a VA benefit called Aid and Attendance. The NASV Staff assisted me in determining if my mother was eligible for this benefit, then assisted me in obtaining the required documentation, and then assisted me in filling out the required forms. They kept me advised of each step of the process. My mother received her first benefit check in February 2014. It was a joyous day. My mother would now be able to stay in a place where she feels safe, and is happy. Thank you NASV!

My Dad is a proud WWII Veteran who worked hard all his life to support his family. He is 84 now & lives alone in poor health and needed to move to an assisted living facility. The problem his income didn't cover the entire cost. I went to a So Cal Vet Support work shop hosted by "Kelly Endres". The work shop was so informative and Kelly explains exactly what information a Veteran needs to provide to become eligible in a way everyone understood. He e-mailed me information to fill out about my Dad before the workshop I felt very prepared. Kelly told me Dad was eligible and introduced me to "Tonya Scott" and I cannot say enough good things about this spitfire. She get things done. Tonya Scott helped me through the entire process. She knows her stuff and has a heart of gold.
I sent my Dads paperwork to the VA in late October 2013. Tonya called me on January 10, 2014 and told me Dad was approved. I was in total shock how fast it happened. The NASV is a great organization with talented and caring people working for them. They are there to help the Veteran and that's exactly what they do. This benefit Dad was awarded with the help of NASV lets him get the care he needs. Thanks NASV!!

Did you know that up to $700.00 is available from the VA to pay towards the burial lot in a private cemetery for US Military Veterans? Did you know that up to $700.00 to pay toward a grave marker to honor our fallen Veterans is available from the VA? I didn't know these things and I missed out. DON'T YOU MISS OUT TOO! Thanks to the National Association of Senior Veterans, I now know of benefits I could have received, if only I would have asked for them or for reimbursement within four years of paying for these services. Now I can let my friends know about benefits available to Veteran's families. There are other benefits available as well, so check out the website at Vetsmatter.org for more benefit information.

In response to ncalc1; National of Senior Veterans service officers are all accredited and Tripp certified which means that we have direct access to all VA claims online. We have trained many service officers from the county and other Veteran service organizations. In fact, we have had a former General Counsel for the VA attend our classes. NASV does not charge for any services, they are all free.
There are three scenarios in play here: (1)It is clear that ncalc1 did not do their homework or he/she would know that 97% of our membership and donations goes to veteran services which would put us in line with Fisher House that has a A+ charity rating ( confirmed by Independent CPA audit),or (2) ncalc1 has an experience with someone posing as NASV-Veteran Support Center and using our name without permission or (3) maybe one of the people that claims to be an expert in VA A&A, does not file claims and is fact does charge for qualification services and is throwing mud at us because we helped someone for free that he/she would have charged.
We would be most thankful if we could get the facts so we can address the issue and correct it.
I am proud to say that out of thousands of claims that NASV has submitted, we have a 98% approval rate and 0 (zero) complaints from our veterans.
God Bless our Veterans!
I encourage anyone with questions to contact me directly at Joe@vetsmatter.org

The Veterans Support Center was so helpful in helping us apply for the veterans benefit for my father who is at home and needing care. I don't know how I would have done it on my own.

The Veteran Support Center was so helpful and kind in assiting with all the questions I had regarding the VA process for our friend. I thank them for being so patient with all my questions and am truly grateful for their support.
VSC helped me, help my clients qualify for the Aid and Attendance benefit. They joy and relief my clients had when they found out and received the benefit was very satisfying. I have since volunteered to speak on behalf of VSC throughout Michigan, to make sure that our veterans are aware of this valuable benefit available to them

WORKING WITH OUR VA SUPPORT VOLUNTEER WAS REWARDING AS WELL AS A PLEASURE. DAVID CASTERIOTO IN FT MYERS, FL FIRST ATTRACTED US TO A BRIEF SEMINAR ON WHAT THE VA COULD DO FOR A FAMILY MEMBER, WORKED WITH US PERSONALLY THROUGH THE APPLICATION(S), ADVISED US ON WHAT WAS NECESSARY FOR THE APPLICANTS FINANCES, INTRODUCED US TO THE CLAIMS EXAMINER FOR THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS, HUNG IN THERE WITH FURTHER ADVISE AND COUNSEL UNTIL BENEFITS WERE ACHIEVED, AND STILL KEEPS IN TOUCH. HE HAS HELPED MANY WITH THIS ARDUOUS TASK AND WE BELIEVE ACHIEVES PLEASURE AND SATISFACTION DOING IT. CAN YOU BEAT THAT?
Thank you so much for all your help with my mother's application. Your support, wisdom, and encouragement through the process was more thank I could comprehend. Your insight got us success quickly. God does work in his own way to bless us.

I have to THANK VSC so very much for putting together all the information for dad’s VA Benefits. We could not have done it without them. My dad wanted to send a contribution as his way of saying how much he appreciates all they did. I am not sure what we have to do for now but he is receiving his checks into his account and he is very much relieved. The monthly checks started this month and hopefully will continue as long as he needs them. Again, he is very thankful and appreciates all you did. Cheryl T.

My husband and I(87&85;)didn't know that help was available for assisted living and home care from the VA. We requested information and it came yesterday. It is exactly what we needed ( Eligibility, Income and assets requirements)We gave all the information to our son for the time if and when we need it. I hope that we never need it but it is comforting to know that there is help available to us if we should need it. Wayne Marker Usa Marine corp. Sincerely, Lucy Marker
My Dad entered Assisted Living 3 years ago. As a WWII Vet I had looked into VA help, but found none. One day while visiting Dad he had a card on his table, when I asked him about it he said it was someone who helped Vets. I took the card home and it sat on my desk for some time. One day I decided to call and see if they could help my Dad. I reached Dave Casterioto, a Volunteer from the Veteran Support Center, and he explained their services and offered to see if he could help my Dad obtain Aid & Attendance Benefits. After gathering information Dave felt that Dad would qualify for full Aid and Attendance benefits. Dave then worked with me every step of the way to help gather the information I needed in the proper format required by the VA, as well as offering guidance on the actual application process. Although everything appeared daunting at first, Dave made the process very easy and painless. Because of Dave’s assistance and the support from the Veteran Support Center my Dad now receives full Aid & Attendance benefits from the VA which will assure him of financial stability for many years to come which in turn will provide him the quality of life he so richly deserves. My thanks to Dave and the Veteran Support Center for all they do in helping Vets like my Dad! John Naples FL
I have been working with the Veteran Support center as a volunteer speaker for 2 years now. The people I have been able to help and get the word out about Veteran benefits has been incredible. My favortie story is when we helped a woman with severe dimensia that was running out of money and would'nt be able to stay in her assisted living home but for only 6 more months. After we where able to get her the benefit she know has a home for the rest of here life.
