I did my certificate course in Palliative Care from AIIMS New Delhi. As I want to know more about Palliative care and its association with AYUSH so I joined this course and completed my Fellowship in Palliative Care. This course was meticulously planned and assessment was based on MCQs which were also well framed. I want the Foundation course to be included in curriculum of MBBS and dental students so that they can serve the society. I am thankful to SGRDUHS and NAPCAIM who gave me this opportunity to complete my Fellowship in Palliative Care.

Hello! I am Dr. Ismat Ahmed Barbhuiya currently doing my MD medicine (Ayurveda). I had come to know about the Fellowship course on Pain and Palliative Care from Dr. Manir Dewan, Faculty, Dept. Of Kayachikitsa ( Medicine), Govt. Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Guwahati.
It was a great journey and I came to know a lot of things about Palliative care through this course specially the part which deals with Breaking bad news to a terminally Ill patient and the procedure of handling the psychology of the patient as well as that of the family was extraordinary. Overall it was an awesome experience and I want to apply the knowledge and wisdom in the future day Medical practice of mine.

The first national organisation integrating modern medicine with traditional & alternative medical systems with the aim of improving the overall quality of life for the terminally ill & Elderly.
It clearly fills in a large void in a country like India, where traditional & religious beliefs play an important part in the process of healing.
I sincerely hope that this organisation will bridge the gap between modern & traditional medicinal systems & help look at Palliation in a new manner.

This is a new non profit making non governmental organisation registered as a charitable society at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.

It's objective is to integrate palliative care with AYUSH streams of medicine.

NAPCAIM trains doctors from allopathic and AYUSH streams of medicine, medical students, nurses, volunteers and social workers in palliative care and to equip the community to deliver quality palliative care to patients suffering from life threatening diseases.

New palliative care centres are being established in all the States in India through the State Chapters. In order to reach out to the grassroot level of the community, City and local chapterse are also being envisaged to strengthen the State Chapters.

Research and Development of AYUSH medical intervention is another main agenda. Patients have to get palliative care at affordable price is also being looked into.

It is also proposed to establish new palliative care centres through the three tier revenue administrative system to ensure that a systematic care is given to the patients who need it. This will be achieved through the primary health centres at the grama panchayaths, the community centres at the block panchayaths and the district hospitals at the district panchayaths.

It also focuses attention on interacting with the givernments in power in the States and Union territories to announce their State Palliative Care policies where there are no such system in force.

NAPCAIM proposes to achieve its objectives within a span of five years.
