Causes: Mental Health, Substance Abuse Prevention
Mission: Provide technical assistance, information and other services to organizations, families and interested individuals regarding substance abuse, other addictions and related issues.
Programs: Office of problem gambling-technical assistance (opg-ta) project - provides technical assistance and training to agencies, organizations and groups regarding issues related to problem gambling. The project offers continuing education units for certain professional groups and conducts needs assessments regarding problem gambling.
california tobacco control program - to implement and evaluate innovative community-focused health education and health promotion interventions that will result in policy, system, and environmental changes that prevent and reduce tobacco use among selected groups with high rates of tobacco use and people with mental health illnesses and substance abuse disorders.
various other - programs to support asian american and pacific islander activities in their fight against substance abuse, other addictions, and related issues.
