Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Mental Health, Substance Abuse Dependency, Prevention & Treatment
Mission: To provide advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all people impacted by mental illness and mental health conditions can build better lives
Target demographics: improve the quality of life for those affected by mental illness by shining a light on the realities that those living with mental illness face every day.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 808 students of NAMI in the Schools, had 1,706 attendees for our educational programs, 2,286 Support Group attendees, and 45 Youth Ambassadors
Geographic areas served: East King County, WA
Programs: -Free support groups with trained peer facilitators that have lived experience. -Educational classes and presentations involving mental illness and suicide prevention, -Our Youth ambassador program and Youth Mental Health Conference created by and for young people
