Mychal’s Learning Place was a great organization to volunteer too. I helped kids and adults with cancer and disabilities in the kitchen. The workers are really nice and patience with the kids and you. The kids are very independent, which was great, because although i was helping them they were also helping me.
I volunteered at Mychal’s Learning Place and I helped them in the kitchen. It was really cool to see how they can be so independent while cooking and cleaning despite their disabilities. I got to learn a little bit about some of the students and it was really cool to be a volunteer. I hope others volunteer as well.
Mychal's Learning Place is an extraordinary organization that provides support, learning, encouragement, and fun to individuals with developmental disabilities. It is truly a special place with caring staff who help adults to achieve independent living and employment. They also run a wonderful after-school program for school age children who have developmental disabilities. My son who attends Mychal's Path-to-Independence adult program is provided an enriching experience everyday he is there...and he is so happy! I encourage everyone to support Mychal's Learning Place!! Mychal's Learning Place is a phenomenal agency that caters to children and young adults who have developmental disabilities. It's students are given the opportunity to develop and establish lasting relationships with other peers in a supportive and nurturing environment. Mychal's programs are void of the "clinical coolness" that is often associated with other such programs. Those served flourish!
