A TBI survivor since 1995, I've been going to 'the yearly retreat' (on 'scholarships' from this foundation) since ... maybe 1999 or 2000 or so? I recovered further than expected of my injury, and I can probably thank MHF for a good deal of the inspiration to achieve mobility. But your donation will go to much more than 'meals & lodging for a buncha guys & gals in the Sangre di Cristo Mountains (a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains in southern Colorado in the United States, running north and south along the east side of the Rio Grande Rift; with the retreat (they call it 'camp,' but luckily we don't do any 'camping') in Red River, NM)'; your donation pays for the doctors & nurses & therapists who accompany us, who make our stay seem almost like 'a visit to an adventurous hospital' (I hear MHF hires two staff-members for every one of us handicapped survivors; and many of 'us campers' are totally paralyzed (as I was for a few months/years).
