Causes: Cemeteries
Mission: Our past, present and future activities include: lot and grave sales interment cremations mausoleum and columbarium (public storage of urns holding deceased's cremated remains) as well as related cemetery activities including maintenance.
Programs: The origin of mt pleasant cemetery was to provide the local population of suffolk county with burial plots. The cemetery opened in 1851 with 14 acres of land and as of 2004 it had grown to 36 acres with some 40,000 lots . Currently the cemetery has three memorials which are 1) the twa flight 800 which went down off the shore of center moriches, 2) the veterans of foreign wars post 414 and 3)center moriches fire department. Our past, present and future activities include: lot and grave sales interment cremations mausoleum and columbarium (public storage of urns holding deceased's cremated remains) as well as related cemetery activities including maintenance. Each of our activities is intimately and organically relatrd to our exempt purposes and furthers our exempt purposes.
