I have been board member since 2010. One of the things that drew me to MFFO is the empowerment of young girls in need. They are in an area of the world where they need to go to boarding schools to have a real chance at going to college and becoming self sufficient young adults. This is a different concept than what we are used to here in America where kids can essentially go to school for free. If they study hard enough and are diligent they can potentially go to college on scholarships as well. That doesn't exist for these young girls and perpetuates poverty. I am happy to say through hard work, dedication and a lot of love and generosity from our supporters we have had our girls graduate not only from high school but several from college and universities. Here is a video of our first university graduate, Mary Manoro. Many girls have followed in her footsteps and we could not be more proud of all of our girls.
