I have served on the Board of Directors for two animal rescues and volunteered for several others during the past 18 years. Based on my knowledge and experience, I feel Mostly Cockers & Poms is an exemplar rescue in every aspect. The care of their rescued babies, be it fostering, transport, vetting, or screening potential adopters and fosters, is first and foremost, as it should be. But, it doesn’t stop there. MCP goes the extra mile to educate the public on quality holistic pet food, commercial pet food recalls, specialty vets, obedience/behavioral trainers, and the importance of spaying/neutering and vaccinating, while keeping their followers updated on adoption success stories with photos of their rescued babies living the good life in their new homes. Being in the legal field and independently rescuing, I have high expectations of not only how an animal rescue cares for its rescued babies and screens potential adopters, but also how the rescue conducts itself in a professional business-like manner, including remaining in good standing with the local Animal Care and Control and State Corporation Commission for non-profits. MCP meets those expectations. It has been a pleasure to not only make monetary donations to MCP, but to assist with rescuing, fostering and transporting their rescued babies.

MCP goes above and beyond. People involved in this organization work night and day to help many more dogs than is humanly possible, all due to their commitment. Through major illness, surgery, death , and tragedy, they continue on. They are very diligent and creative in getting funding, but their rescues are usually very very expensive. If you love dogs, love MCP.
Mostly cockers and pons are the best, they saved my cocker Melia/maria, we could not take care of two cockers puppies and so we had to choose one to give to the cockers and poms, and now she has a great home with other dogs and she is being train to do hospice i believe, and you know we paid over 400 dollars for her but i am so blessed to just know she is happy and all of her new family loves her every bit as much as we do, and yes i know i bother the cockers and pons a lot just to see if i can find out that she is doing good and they always tell me. they truly love each and every dog they take in. i am so happy to have been able to find my beautiful cocker a great home and i could have never ever done it with Cockers AND POMS THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS RITA LEE
I trust this organization to do the best it can to rescue, educate, and promote the breeds to the public. Now that I know of this group via Winnie D'Poough, I will check more often for helpful information and updates.
I have been supporting this terrific rescue for the last couple of years and was recently a foster. I am so impressed with the top level care & concern for all the MCP pups! Robin and her fosters treat the pups like their own, with lots of love & care so that they can become the best companions in their forever homes. MCP frequently takes seniors & medical needs dogs without reservation and gets them on the path to recovery or a great retirement home. As a foster, I really appreciated the detailed work that goes into adoptions; vet reference, home visits, etc to ensure these sweet pups go to a great home! Cindy

I volunteer at the county shelter so I am always on the lookout when pets come in for this terrific rescue because I know they will be in the best of hands! When I find a cocker or pom mix, I text the picture to them and we start the process to get that animal adopted or rescued to limit their time in the shelter! They are especially great with seniors or new mommas & pups. I have also sent potential adopters I meet at the shelter when they are looking specifically for these breeds because I know they will find a perfect match!
I have not lived in Tucson very long, but I do admire Mostly Cockers & Poms. They constantly monitor our kill shelter to make the special and older dogs have a chance to live with a loving family. I am currently unable to volunteer, but when I am able I will pick this rescue group to help out.
I'm not very articulate with reviews, I can never find the right words. But Mostly Cockers & Poms is a wonderful organization with caring people, volunteers and supporters. The love they have for the animals, what they do and making the right fit for the animals/furever homes involved is so evident. I love this organization and their strong desire to nurture, provide & teach.
This organization is amazing! They truly care and work so very hard to heal the sick and unwanted. They turn those forlorn animals into healthy happy creatures that brighten and cheer the lives of the fortunate new owners! One small miracle at a time. I enjoy the educational material they publish, so informative to pet owners! Thanks Mostly Cockers & Poms for all you do!!
We adopted a beautiful female Pomeranian from "Mostly Cockers and Poms" last March. They made sure she was a good fit for our family they were honest about her medical history. They gave us all her medical records. Told us as much as they new -- about her past. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in adopting a rescue dog. They make sure the dogs are healthy and ready to be adopted out before releasing them . Can't say enough good about this rescue group.
Mostly Cockers & Poms provides excellent, high quality service to dogs in need of homes and the humans who adopt them. They love and care for the dogs intensely.
I worked with Mostly Cockers & Poms to rescue a pom last year. Robin was very professional, responsive, and most importantly, always wanting to do the right thing for the animals. She was very thorough with me throughout the process and I felt 100% comfortable every step of the way.
I am now very happy with my doggie London and I can't thank Robin enough for bringing us together. Thank you for all that you do for all of the rescues.
I hold in very high regard Robin Dean and all the crew at Mostly Cockers and Poms. They work tirelessly to save and find good forever homes for the forgotten, abandoned, hurt, and unloved animals. I donate regularly to this cause that Robin Dean has put into effect and will continue to do my best to help this wonderful rescue. They are an honest and very well run organization. Roll on Robin Dean!!!!!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Robin Dean and "Mostly Cockers & Poms". I started donating to this awesome rescue and have never been sorry. I know that my money is used on these dogs that she saves. Robin Dean is up front and keeps the people informed as to how the dog is doing . Updates mean everything to me and her updates are timely and to the point. This rescue does not back away from a dog just because it is ill or has special needs. It is just wonderful and in this day and time where you have scammers it is wonderful to know when you see her name that your donations go where they are suppose to go. Hats off to Robin Dean and "Mostly Cockers & Poms".
There are not enough positive words in the dictionary to describe Robin Dean and "Mostly Cockers & Poms". I have donated to Robin's rescue for a year now. Robin takes the hard cases--dogs that definitely need extensive medical care, bonded pairs, etc. Robin steps up to the plate with no hesitation. Her rescue is extremely well run. The dogs are well cared for in every way. Her compassion and experience are beyond compare. I have enjoyed working with Robin Dean and "Mostly Cockers & Poms". I firmly believe in Robin and her mission--she is truly all about what is best for the dogs.
I am a full time animal rescue volunteer/coordinator helping save dogs from various shelters. Robin Dean and I have worked closely together for over a year. She is one of very few rescues who I trust completely and it is always my pleasure to work with her. Robin is a "True Rescuer" - she does it for the right reason - to save a dog's life. She doesn't focus solely on the financial aspect when it comes to helping - To Mostly Cockers and Poms IT IS ALL ABOUT THE DOG.
When I help get a dog out of a shelter for Mostly Cockers & Poms, I know without any doubt it will be taken care of in the absolute best way possible. She spares no expense on medical care. Her fosters and potential adopters must pass stringent tests. On the very rare occasion an adoption doesn't succeed - Mostly Cockers & Poms is there to assist and take the dog back into their organization. Followup stories and photos are always provided - which is so important in running a group like this.
Also, Mostly Cockers & Poms has stepped up many times for needy animals in their own vicinity. When contacted for assistance by local animal shelters, Robin Dean never hesitates. This rescue is built on wonderful ethics - integrity, compassion, truthfulness, dedication. It is my pleasure to highly recommend Mostly Cockers & Poms run by Robin Dean with the highest level of endorsement possible. Please feel free to contact me if needed.
I foster for Mostly Cockers & Poms and volunteer in other ways as well. Robin Dean is very experienced and compassionate in her role as mentor, teacher and leader of this rescue group. I am new to fostering and have become educated and confident in my role under Robin's guidance. Potential adopters are encouraged to arrange a "meet and greet" in the foster's home where they can observe the pup where it's safe and comfortable, and watch its interactions with other pets. This rescue group offers a personal touch throughout the adoption process. Stories, pictures and videos are posted on the facebook page so followers can read about the joy these pups bring to their forever families. Robin makes the effort to keep bonded pairs together and also place older pups. Many of the fosters, volunteers, adopters and supporters have formed friendships centered around their dedication to this rescue group. I am honored to be a part of such a caring effort.
In April of 2013 I found two puppies on FB that I just fell in love with, Oso and Bella. They were in a CA shelter. I called daily to check on them. Then Robin stepped up and rescued them so they could stay together. That is when Robin came into my life. I talked to her, completed an application and drove to Tucson to pick up my new babies. We had a wonderful trip home, bonding and just spending the time to get to know each other. They were well worth the 1500 mile trip (each way) to bring my new babies home. Robin and her husband made the transition so easy. I would adopt from them again, but I do wish they were closer! We recently lost our pom who was 11 years old. And I recently found another dog that could be my new babies brother and about the same age. What to do!! Am I ready for another road trip???? When you fall in love, you fall in love!
I manage Camino Pet Hospital in Irvine, Ca and work with several rescues on a regular basis. I had the pleasure of working with Mostly Cockers and Poms last month when they rescued a Pomeranian named Bear from a local shelter. They arranged to have him brought to us for a medical evaluation. In speaking with Robin, I was immediately impressed by her professional balance of compassion and reason. I presented to her our Doctor's findings and went over the recommended treatment and surgery for Bear. Mostly Cockers and Poms made it possible to change the life of this precious fluff ball and continue to keep us updated on his new happy and healthy life in Arizona. We look forward to having a hand in future "glory stories" with MCAP and are proud to have a working relationship with such a reputable rescue. Mostly Cockers and Poms does great work, just ask Bear!
I adopted my dog Lola from Mostly Cockers and Poms back in May and was able to bring her home the beginning of June. She arrived in to the rescue pregnant, when the puppies were about 4 wks old I saw a picture of her and one of her precious puppies and just knew that I needed to bring her home....and so started my relationship with the rescue and with Robin. Lola had the most amazing foster mom who let me come and visit my Lola every week so that I could begin building a connection with her and I truly believe that this time was so crucial. See, prior to coming in to the rescue, Lola had basically experienced nothing as up until that time she spent her whole life in a backyard. Not only did I come away from this adoption with an absolutely precious dog but I made two very good friends as well with Robin and Patty, Lola's foster mom. There was quite the following for Lola and her puppies since they were the first littler of puppies the rescue has had. With that, I approached Robin about starting a FaceBook page for Lola and her puppies so that we could help to bring more visibility to her rescue and help with networking in any way that I could.
I have since also attended a Fosters to the Rescue event with Lola, her foster mom Patty and Robin so that we could show the true full circle of the good fostering does. I look forward to helping with other events as well. It has been a pleasure being involved with this rescue and I tell everyone I can about them. I hope to some day be able to help her out further by fostering once I'm able to. Robin truly does this for the animals.
I helped my Mother adopt a beautiful chihuahua from mostly cockers and poms. My mother and step father love her so much! They made us feel at ease with their "no pressure" attitude. They encouraged my mother to try her out to make sure she was a good fit! She is so loved and we are all thankful she was saved from death row by this amazing organization!!
I started volunteering with Mostly Cockers and Poms in the summer of 2012 as a foster home. The homeless dog situation here in Tucson is so heart rending I felt I had to do something. I've never regretting my decision to become a foster home. In the past year MCP has saved so many wonderful little dogs (and a few cats!) and I feel honored to part of this effort. This rescue really goes the extra mile with every pup they take in and are so careful about finding just the right home for each and every one of them. I couldn't resist one of my own fosters, so I now have a very spoiled Pomeranian named Leo who is working hard to make sure I don't keep any more little dogs!!! Robin stays in close touch with all the foster people and asks for frequent updates and personal assessments of the foster animals so that she can make an educated decision on whether a dog is a good match for the interested adopters who contact her.
I work with a lot of rescues & Mostly Cockers & Poms is one of the best. Many of the dogs that MC&P rescue are from Southern California high kill shelters, and I help them get the dogs from the shelters and to the rescue. My experiences with MC&P have always been very favorable, and I know that when they have committed to taking a dog, he will be vetted, healthy, groomed and socialized, before they find him a wonderful home. I have found Robin, the founder of MC&P to be friendly and honest, and welcomes questions, as she believes in keeping her rescue totally transparent.
I would recommend Mostly Cockers & Poms to anyone.
I have seen work done by rescues over the years. Never have I seen anyone more dedicated to finding good, good homes for these little animals that Mostly cockers and poms!!! They are the best!!
This is a top notch organization.....you never ever have to guess what is going on with there animals....lots of photos....new owner photos.......There were a Bonded Pair of Pommies...Brother and Sister.....the owner of these Babies had passed away ........people would fall in love with the sister and only want one....MC&P hung on until the right family met them and fell in luv with them BOTH....if I remember correctly the family was retired and RV'd quite a bit.....what a TERRIFIC life these Angels are having...AND the rescue was able to do the RIGHT thing.......I do network homeless Pommies and this rescue steps up to the bat on animals that need vetting....they do not shy away from them....making them a much admired Rescue...Truly for the luv and care given and recieved♥
I have a friend who has adopted two poms through Mostly Cockers &Poms. Although I have not adopted a dog through Mostly Cockers & Poms, I have followed their activities over time. I have watched them save, heal, foster, and adopt out many wonderful dogs. As far as I know, miracles are performed here. Many of the adopters post follow up pictures of their dogs on MCP's facebook page, which is very rewarding.
This is a 100% loving, trust worthy, reliable organization. Few things make me feel better than being able to make a small donation to Mostly Cockers & Poms when I can.
When the time comes, I hope that I might be able to adopt my next dog from this wonderful organization. I believe Robin will match me with the just the right dog.
I can not say enough good things about this rescue. Not as a rescue, but working with rescue dogs myself, the founder has been my mentor. She has courtesy posted dogs I personally needed help with. Her honesty and transparency is exemplary. Watching this rescue since it's inception has been amazing. You always get to see what is going on with the dogs they have rescued and have for adoption, from the day they rescue them, to the day they find their forever homes, then so many times, ongoing wonderful alum photos from the adopters. Robin Dean's work leaves an impact on everyone she comes into contact with. She works hard making sure her rescues are going into the best possible matches. She isn't there to herd them in and push them out the door. If you wish to adopt from them, be prepared to go the gauntlet.
I have watched this organization over the past year plus go out of their way to support other organizations in the area, and, help numerous pets that otherwise would never have made it out of the shelters. They are caring, compassionate, and I love that they NEVER commercially kennel their dogs! Each dog or cat lives in a home with a loving family until it is adopted. Their screening process for adopters in thorough and I see countless adopters keeping in touch and sending in updates, which shows the true caring difference they make! I have seen them do assisted placements and just offer great advice going out of their way to help people in need if they possibly can. Great rescue!! This group is how all of them should be! Doing whatever is best for the animals without the additional drama! Love them!
