Mission: The mission of monroe county board of mental retardation and developmental disabilities is to ensure that programs, services and supports which promote choices and community participation are available for eligible individuals and their families. These choices will provide an opportunity to plan their futures in which they live, work, learn and develop social relationships. M. A. C. O. Is a state chartered adult workshop for handicapped persons and is affiliated with the monroe county board of mr/dd. Individuals who experience one or more developmental disabilities are provided a work setting with levels of assistance to help them become productive members of the community.
Programs: Workshop gives clients a chance to learn a trade and work in the community. This gives the clients a sense of accomplishment and develops self-esteem. Services include janitorial, mowing, laundry, etc. Trade skills include engraving, printing, etc.
