Mokuroku has been a blessing to our family. Our son was very active in martial arts and then we moved for my husband's job. We were unable to find a dojo were we moved and it was difficult on Daniel not having the structure and comradery. We are finally settled and found this amazing dojo and Sensei Leo. The teachers are patient and thoughtful and care not just about teaching proper techniques, but about the individual child. Not just martial arts is taught here, Sensei is a wonderful example of how to make a difference in the community. Our son is learning how to think of others and be a helping hand. We are thankful for our new family!
This is my village❣️ We have been regular patrons of Mokuroku Martial Arts Society for YEARS. Instruction is top quality and always knowledgeable. Sensai's practice with their own belt level peers to improve their craft. Also, they attend seminars and invite students to attend for growth and experience. They support all levels who might wish to compete and help them with conditioning and active coaching. It's more than a sport, it's a lifestyle.

We became part of the Mokuroku family by chance that my little needed a little motivation. When I signed up, I was initially unaware of the devotion to focus on safety and skill development and... more importantly character development that is embedded into the training.
The Mokuroku family has strengthened and enforced values that I hold dear and supported my family beyond life events that we're beyond our control. This is a family unit for us ❤
This program has been wonderful for my son! Sensei Steve is patient and kind with all of the little guys in the class. My son can’t wait to go to class every week!
I was searching for the right program for my 4 year old son & I found this wonderful program here. My son loves Little Warriors and has learned so many incredible moves & strategies.
We love the little warriors program! We are so happy with Sensei Steve & Sensei Leo & Sensei Brianna. They are all incredibly patient instructors that work so well with our 4 & 6 year old sons.
Top notch organization with top notch instructors. Family friendly. Great place to learn martial arts!

Great family oriented facility. Everyone is welcome, at all levels. The Sensia's are extremely professional. We had a great time, and recommend this to anyone that wants to learn martial arts.
I have to say that when I started talking my kids to this class I didn’t know if they would like it or not. We started talking our kids back in March and my kids love the instructors and the interaction with the other kids. We know that when we go to JuJitsu our kids are not only part of a class but welcomed as family. I see the confidence that both my kids have gained and know that it helps with focusing not only in JuJitsu but also in school. We are very happy with our decision to bring our kids to this class and encourage others to bring their kids as well.
My story is pretty simple I joined this place to learn how to properly defend myself from other. But when I joined I got more then I bargained. I gained great friends and learned important life lesson. I can say for sure that this place and the wonderful people involved will change your life for the best. I highly recommend this martial arts dojo above all else.
I first joined years ago with my best friend. We had an incredible time, attending as many classes as we could, as often as we could. The quality of the courses - along with the passion of the staff - create the perfect storm of interaction and student engagement across the board. We learn by example here.
My 13 year old son has been a student of Sensei Leo's for almost a year, having started in the children's class and recently moved to the adult's class. The level of instruction that he has received has been outstanding; he has gotten to work with excellent martial artists on a personal level and has made huge strides. Leo is a great teacher of both adults and children and I would highly recommend him.
I called this place when I was 17 years old. It was the first call that I ever made to seek out a service and I was a little apprehensive about it because I didn't know what questions to ask. The man I spoke to on the phone was so nice and inviting that I subsequently used that to talk my sister and cousin into coming with me and nearly five years later I've yet to regret it. The martial arts is great and there's a lot to choose from but outside that I was given opportunities and advice that I wouldn't have received anywhere else. The nice man from the phone ended up teaching me in my career path as well. Going as far to drive me to about 50% of my classes because I didn't have a license. There's a Sensei here who would teach me anything I wanted to know about math, all I'd have to do is ask. Another that if I called at 8AM frustrated from work he'd meet me at the dojo to work with me. I've been given so much guidance and information that has changed the course of my life for the better and no one once asked for compensation for their time which anyone else would have given the sheer number of hours they've put in helping me. I've been allowed to come from little to no cost when I couldn't pay for it because I was in school. Like yes I love martial arts and the practice of it and this place has amazing classes but god only knows where I'd be without convincing my family to come with me because of the nice guy who answered the phone.
Mokuroku Martial Arts Society is a remarkable organization. It is filled with talented martial artists who bring with them a variety of backgrounds. It is a great place to learn. We are always chatting and laughing while we work on the techniques. Mokuroku feels like a family.
I joined Mokuroku seven years ago. I had already trained in Hapkido for five years and, after moving, I was looking for a martial arts club that taught similar joint locks and throws. I started with a search for nearby Hapkido clubs, with little success. It was important that my new club be competent with an easy-going atmosphere. Some martial arts clubs are overly aggressive. I had no desire to train in such a place. I would rather be surrounded by careful, controlled practitioners. I was lucky to find Mokuroku.
I largely credit the quality of the club to its head instructor, Sensei Leo Barahona. He is very knowledgeable about Danzan Ryu Ju Jitsu, and he has a knack for teaching it. The class maintains the right balance of intensity and control. A few times each year, Sensei Leo arranges visits from remarkably talented guest instructors. These visits are fun (and sometimes exhausting). They give his students a new perspective on the techniques we have been learning.
Sensei Leo encourages us to be creative and experiment, when we prove we can do it safely. We learn; we improvise; we adapt. Over time, it adds up to a transformational experience. My skill in these arts has improved greatly since joining and I enjoy each and every class.
Joined the dojo and realized i had found my home away from home. This place is great. The people are amazing and the instructers a very good at what they do. Great place.
The Mokuroku Martial Arts Society is an exceptional organization that is led by amazing instructors and is perfect for everyone; the clientele consists of all kinds, from its many great martial artists, to beginners (and everyone in between). It is a wonderful place for anyone to acquire a thorough education in self-defence martial arts and have a great time doing so. Patient instructors make a personal effort to impart their own knowledge and to encourage and embrace the existing talents of their students. Students work together and support one another to make achieving their goals assured. It truly is an organization to be proud of, and a family to have pride in.
I never thought I was the type of person who could do martial arts, I figured it was just for muscle bound manly men, I could not have been more wrong. Five years since my sister took me to Mokuroku Martial Arts Society for the first time it has become a passion for me. Not only do I get to work with wonderful people on the mats every week I've become a better person outside the dojo. Martial arts has helped me to overcome my anxiety and has instilled a sense of confidence in me that I never thought possible. At Mokuroku Martial arts society I have found Ohana, a family of friends who have helped to lift me up and become a better person both inside and outside the dojo.
This is a great place to train and mighty ohana. I have had the please to train their. It felt like home awayfrom my home dojo. They provide good instruction and more importantly. They provide a service to the communty. By having a space to mold not only one's body. Also one's character, as training on the mat can only do.
I started training at Mokuroku Martial Arts Society about three years ago. As a young college student who is blind, I always struggled to fit in anywhere. Much to my surprise and gratitude, everyone welcomed me with open arms. Furthermore, they were more than willing to work with me to a level which I had never experienced before. I have come to consider each and every member of the dojo as part of my ohana--my family. The instructors and students all treat each other with the utmost respect, but we are also very relaxed with each other as well. The school is more than a place where I can learn how to defend myself; it's a place where I can actually be myself and learn to grow as a person.
Joined Mokuroku Martial Arts Society three years ago. Everyone there treated me like I was family from day one. It’s a great school for children and adults to learn self defense but it also teaches focus, confidence, self respect and respect for each other. It’s a wonderful place where everyone is family. Sensei Leo truly cares about every person that walks through the door.
This is an amazing dojo that not only teach us how to fight or defend yourself it’s about family. When I first joined I didn’t know anyone but everyone welcomed me in like I was already one of them. That’s what this art and dojo is about learning helping as much peopl as possible.
Mokuroku Martial Arts is more than a non-profit; it is a family hub for the community. The school brings together the best elements of whole person development in a non-threatening environment making a difference for every demographic in the community. During my seven year affiliation with the school I have seen troubled and at-risk youth become leaders in their community. Sensei Leo genuinely cares for and gives to the point of personal sacrifice to make a difference in the lives of people--every single day. This school builds citizens who will promote positive change tomorrow.
This nonprofit is all about the people. Anyone and everyone that comes through the door is different but Mokuroku Martial Arts Society always makes them as comfortable and as happy as possible. They not only teach people how to defend themselves but they also make it a priority to give back to the community in any shape or form
