I understand the group is not an animal rescue group, but a group that educates the public about animal and environmental issues, whether it be food animals, wild life, or companion animals or egregious environmental problems such as climate change. They are a hard working group and I have witnessed their work on a couple of occasions. I am impressed with their degree of knowledge and generosity of time and effort. So many of the issues we have confronting us today are related to our treatment of animals and the planet.
Humans have been terrible stewards of our beautiful planet. I just wish there were more groups like Mobilization for Animals, so much education is needed at the grassroots level if we as humans are to survive.
Review from Guidestar
This is my experience with this group and IS THE TRUTH:
I needed help in saving a dog from being abused. The name "Mobilization For Animals" would lead one to believe that this was a group that would lend assistance to achieving such a goal.--you know--mobilizing...But, OH NO! I NEVER RECEIVED a bit of HELP! I was yelled at for not doing more.
Furthermore....and I'm sorry to have to make this claim, but this group (at least those running it) are a collection of women who complain and protest deer hunting when they should be protesting the bulldozers that are destroying natural habitats and ecosystems. Hunters hunt 2 weeks a year. Bulldozers destroy 365 days a year.
Although I am a vegan, I don't FORCE my opinions on others nor do I look down upon meat-eaters. I was demonized because I ate natural honey. So, allow me to mention that if it weren't for the beekeepers we most likely would not have ANY bees. Why: Because the Corporate Empire along with bulldozers and construction (more appropriately "Destruction") companies are terraforming our planet, paving over natural habitats and building never-ending shopping malls.
I would highly regard and donate to a true animal-rescue group that would protest the destruction of our country sides and our ecosystems. But it may never happen. Why? Because natural habitats, life-sustaining ecosystems, and wildlife do not generate corporate profits...unless they are destroyed.
This is a wonderful non-profit. The people who run it care deeply about animals and the environment. They host an annual event in my town called EcoFest to raise awareness for the environment and animal kindness, featuring our local animal rescues and businesses. I have been very impressed with their attention to detail when it comes to watching every penny, making sure their non-profit uses its resources to have the most impact. Their event included only vegan food, no styrofoam, very limited plastic and composted all paper and food scraps. They also provided reusable cups to fill with water instead of having individual plastic water bottles at the event. I am always impressed with how environmentally aware this non-profit is while focusing on animal activism. I am also impressed with the amount of information they have to educate the public. The volunteers are individually knowledgeable in different areas and they maintain relationships with other environmental non-profits and animal rescues making them a great educational resource. I deeply trust this non-profit and all of the volunteers I have come to know over the past 3 years through their hosting of the Pottstown EcoFest.
I have volunteered with this wonderful nonprofit for many years. We educate the public about animal cruelty in entertainment (circuses, etc.); factory farming; the treatment of wildlife (trapping, etc.); and vivisection research among other issues. We provide humane alternatives such as vegetarian/vegan options, humane wildlife population control information, and other cruelty-free lifestyle choices. I also assist in fostering and adopting out homeless cats that are brought to our attention. You can see our "adoptables" on Petfinder, Adoptatpet, Rescueme.org and Rescuegroups.org. My current foster cat -Mia - is above. Your donations and volunteer time go directly to our programs and rescues. We are ALL VOLUNTEER! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
MOBILIZATION FOR ANIMALS is NOT what you would expect.
Have you ever witnessed animal abuse? Did you need help from others to make the abuse stop? With a name such as MOBILIZATION FOR ANIMALS one would believe that this was the group that could help you stop and/or prevent animal abuse; BUT you would be quite wrong.
MOBILIZATION FOR ANIMALS is merely a group of Mainline women (and maybe a gent or two) who push their views on others, i.e., veganism and at the same time promote their businesses.
Yes, these women may have animals and may not consume animal products, but they WILL NOT INTERVENE TO PREVENT NOR STOP ONGOING ANIMAL ABUSE. They will only complain about well known cases of animal abuse after the fact. They will do nothing to prevent reported or ongoing abuse.
If you reach out for their help expect to be YELLED at for not doing enough on your own. I know this from personal experience. Furthermore, they are extremely cliquish, cold, and isolating. Many of the woman will admit that they get along with animals better than they do people; and they will demonstrate this soon or later the longer you associate with them.
BEWARE OF THIS FALSE NONPROFIT!
Lastly, humans are from the animal kingdom too.
