Causes: Education
Mission: Primary purpose: (1) enhance the community aspects of merry moppet preschool and belmont oaks elementary school,(2) facilitate community service opportunities, and (3)provide additional learning opportunities, especially in the areas of cultural education, for the students.
Programs: The programs run by the parents' club include the following (non-exhaustive list):art in action - a volunteer-taught art program; annual picnic - opportunity for the school community to gather; annual social and auction - annual event to help strengthen and build the parent community and to raise funds; book fair - fund raiser; buddy program - matches existing families with incoming families to foster community; food drive - organized for the benefit of second harvest food bank of santa clara and san mateo counties; giving tree - organized to support the san mateo county children's fund holiday gift program; halloween coffee and parade - organized to enhance the sense of community among the parents.
