Mission: The ms society of anesthesiologists was founded in 1954 and is a component of the american society of anesthesiologists (asa). Asa is an educational , research, and scientific association of physicians organized to raise and maintain the standards and medical practice of anesthesiology and improve the care of patients who require anesthesia or relief from pain.
Programs: The mississippi society of anesthesiologists saw increased participation in our annual meeting attendance this year. Approximately 60 people participated . The society offered informative programs at the annual meeting on february 24, 2018. The society sent out one newsletter during 2017. This newsletter along with other informative emails to membership experienced a higher open rate via email. The newsletter provided our members with educational information on a broad range of topics including advocating for anesthesiology, fasa designation and other asa updates such as network billing and when seconds count which highlights this specialty's critical role in patient care.
