The group of people behind Millvale Community Library has been unwavering in their creation of an accessible and relevant educational institution for the town. This is an example of a true community organization, built from the ground up by the ideas, skills and effort of a small group of people and forever changing the landscape of the town in which it was first imagined.

Mission: The Millvale Community Library is dedicated to establishing the community involvement, financial support, and environment of learning to realize a public library space in Millvale. Our direction is driven by community needs, and we especially recognize our responsibility to serve our children, as a place to discover new ideas, read, and become informed.
Results: We successfully operated a children's library from 2008-2009, before dedicating our efforts to completing the rehabilitation of our future home at 213 Grant Avenue, Millvale. The building has been purchased, gutted, designed, and construction is under way. While the project costs $568,255 we have raised funds and volunteer efforts to the point that only $91,300 is still needed in order to open. We hope to open by the end of 2012.
Programs: Ongoing GED test preparation courses, summer literacy and art program, library building volunteer construction
